Tras la llegada del doctor Joseph Mengele a Auschwitz, Helene fue elegida para abrir y dirigir la Kindergarten (guardería) del campo. La mujer era enfermera y Mengele la eligió al pensar que una alemana haría mejor su trabajo. Helene tuvo varias ayudantes gitanas, dos enfermeras polacas y la enfermera checa Vera Luke. La guardería y una escuela infantil fueron instaladas en las barracas 27 y 29. Las instalaciones contaban con columpios, material escolar y un proyector de cine. El doctor Mengele utilizó la guardería como lugar en el que cuidar a los niños que utilizaría más adelante como conejillos de indias de sus experimentos.

Un joven periodista del Miami Herald se hizo amigo de Ernest y Mary Hemingway y observó el descenso de Hemingway a la depresión y el alcoholismo, con el telón de fondo de la Revolución cubana.

PAPA es la primera película de Hollywood rodada en Cuba desde la revolución de 1959. La película marca un momento decisivo en que Yari y su equipo multinacional filmaron, casi en su totalidad, en los alrededores así como en La Habana, Cuba.  Un hito cultural dirigido por un director americano con actores de Hollywood, una película de esta importancia no se ha producido en Cuba en más de 50 años. 

Bob puede hablar sobre los increíbles  obstáculos  que él y su equipo tuvieron que superar para rodar allá - incluyendo la obtención de los derechos del Departamento de Estado para rodar en Cuba basándose en la categoría como "documental", y el acceso del equipo para rodar en el hogar original cubano de Hemingway.

The final track piece has been installed for Busch Gardens® Tampa Bay’s most anticipated family thrill attraction, Cobra’s Curse™, scheduled to open this summer.

The 4,475-pound track piece was bolted into place on Saturday, March 19, marking the end of track construction and the beginning of the testing phase. 

The spin coaster will be the only one of its kind in the world, featuring a menacing 30,000-pound snake king icon and a 70-foot vertical lift that will take riders within inches of its 4-foot-long fangs. The three-and-a-half-minute ride will then spin forward, backward and then freely, taking riders on a whirlwind of exciting explorations.

Additionally, even before boarding the new ride, guests will be just inches away from a 400-cubic-foot snake exhibit in the queue line which will include Jameson’s mambas, Angolan pythons and rhinoceros and gaboon vipers. This multi-level exhibit reflects the theme of the ride while featuring several animal husbandry and enrichment components designed with the snakes’ welfare in mind, including naturalistic design elements, controlled heat sources and humidity control.
