HAWK’S LANDING ROBERT E. CUPP III 18 HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP DESIGN GOLF CLUB 6,600 yards from the back of four tee sets, the par71 golf course winds around 200 acres of lushly landscaped grounds and three sides of the resort. Featuring Tifdwarf Bermuda grass greens and water play on 15 holes, the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary boasts a scenic blend of native wildlife and tropical vegetation.
Notable holes include the 353-yard, short, par-4 8th hole, lending an early introduction to excitement, as well as in contrast, the 432-yard 14th hole, better known as the longest par-4 on the course. Wide, brawny, handsome and deceptive, this hole must be played with subtlety and precision.
E-Z-Go powered golf carts are equipped with touch screen GPS Industries Informer yardage system, with capabilities ranging from skill improvement to PGA-type scoring and overall play enhancement. Hawk’s Landing also features a practice facility with a putting green and short game area.
FOOT GOLF For guests wanting to spend a day on the greens, but in search of a different experience other than traditional golf, players of all ages participate in Foot Golf -- the emerging sport played with a soccer ball on the golf course, but scored by traditional golf rules of stroke. During the round of Foot Golf, team members attempt to kick the soccer ball from tee-to-green into a 21-inch hole, while making sure to avoid water hazards and sand bunkers. Groups have the option to play a round of 6 or 18 holes at Hawk’s Landing every Tuesday and Saturday after 4:30pm, $25 for adults and $12.50 for each accompanying junior (17 and under), and includes the use of a soccer ball for each player and golf cart for the game.
