Albita, la reconocida cantautora cubana, recibirá Premio a la Excelencia en la entrega de los Latin Grammy 2024

 Miami, Florida- Calificada como una de las voces más auténticas de la música cubana, la reconocida cantautora Albita, recibirá entre otros artistas, el premio a la excelencia por su destacada trayectoria musical en la entrega anual de los Latin Grammy 2024.

Albita, quien consta con 17 nominaciones, 2 Grammys, y un premio Emmy, ha transcendido en la industria de la música latina en los Estados Unidos y el mundo por revolucionar la música tradicional cubana con sus aportes. La prestigiosa cantautora ha sido anteriormente galardonada con la maxima distinción artística en Cuba “La Orden por la Cultura Nacional” y ha conquistado corazones con éxitos como “La Parranda”, “Que manera de Quererte”, “Chico Chévere” y “Que Culpa Tengo Yo de Haber Nacido en Cuba”.

Fue seleccionada por la importante fotógrafa Annie Leibovitz para su libro de fotos titulado “Women” a fines de los años 90. Con su estilo único ha impactado comunidades llevando su música más allá de las fronteras consolidando su carrera no solo como cantante y compositora, sino también como productora y actriz. Ha participado en importantes obras musicales en Broadway como “The Mambo Kings”, “Havana”, y “Carmen la Cubana”, recibiendo excelentes críticas por su desempeño. “La Reina del Carnaval de la Calle 8” en el año 2005 también tuvo su show de televisión “La Descarga con Albita”, un programa producido totalmente en vivo y dedicado a la música el cual le llevó a recibir un premio Emmy tiempo después. Por su enérgica y vibrante voz ha colaborado con distinguidas figuras de la industria como el reconocido pianista y jazzista cubano Chucho Valdés, y el influyente productor y empresario Emilio Estefan. Este año la Academia de la Música Latina reconoce la impactante trayectoria artística de una de las mujeres más versátiles de nuestra época quien con su autenticidad y dominio del escenario, ha sabido mantener vivas sus raíces rindiendo tributo a la herencia musical de sus padres y destacándose como una de las más exuberantes cantautoras de los últimos tiempos.

Biografía completa de Albita Alba Mirna Rodríguez Herrera (La Habana, Cuba), es una cantante, compositora y música cubana conocida en el ámbito musical como Albita. Es ganadora del Premio Grammy. Sus padres fueron conocidos en Cuba como intérpretes de música tradicional y guajira, lo que le aseguró a Albita un lanzamiento como cantante desde edad temprana. Comenzó a trabajar profesionalmente desde su adolescencia, consiguiendo reconocimiento entre los intérpretes nacionales de música folklórica. Lanza en 1988 su primer álbum Habrá Música Guajira (There Will Be Guajira Music). A comienzos de los años 1990 firma contratos de trabajo en Colombia, desde donde viaja a los Estados Unidos, haciendo de la ciudad de Miami su residencia permanente. Desde su llegada a Miami Albita llama la atención de varias figuras de renombre en el mundo del espectáculo que reconocen su talento. En 1994 lanza su primer álbum en Estados Unidos No Se Parece a Nada producido por el empresario y productor Emilio Estefan. De este álbum, surgió como éxito el tema "Qué manera de quererte" y "Que culpa tengo yo" Su carrera en Estados Unidos ha tenido varios éxitos y se ha constituido como uno de los principales exponentes de la cultura cubana. Nominada varias veces a los prestigiosos premios Latin Grammy es ganadora de dos premios por su producción "Albita Llegó", como productora y como cantante. Ha compuesto música para cine y su música y su voz también han sido seleccionados para varias películas. Participó como una de las figuras principales en diversos musicales y más recientemente en abril de 2016 se presentó en la obra de teatro Carmen, presentada en el Teatro del Châtelet, de París.1​

From Plimsoll Productions, THE DEVIL’S CLIMBfollows world-class rock climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell on an epic expedition to tackle one of the most daunting challenges of their careers: summiting the infamous Devil’s Thumb, a sinister tower and legendary 9,000-foot peak in the Alaskan wilderness surrounded by old-growth rainforest and known as one of the most dangerous mountains in North America.

 Alex and Tommy are two of the greatest rock climbers of all time — and best friends. Together, they set off on an emotional and physical journey, traveling 2,600 miles by bicycle, sailboat and on foot through the American West, Canada and Alaska to a daring climb of the Devil’s Thumb.

 For Tommy, regarded as a pioneer in the sport and one of Alex’s heroes, this expedition is a chance to make a heroic comeback from a career-threatening Achilles injury, making the expedition’s success uncertain.
