ORLANDO PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA CONCERTS FOR YOUNG CHILDREN ON SALE NOW
Live music for young children offered through Young People’s Concerts and Symphony Storytime Series
The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra announced that concerts for young children are on sale now through it’s Young People’s Concerts at Bob Carr Theater and Symphony Storytime Series at The Plaza Live
The Symphony Storytime Series provides live music for young children, ages three to seven by Orlando Philharmonic musicians, along with narration and beautiful hand-drawn illustrations that bring favorite children’s classics to life. All concerts take place on and Saturdays and Sundays, with two performances each day at The Plaza Live.
After each concert, children enjoy hands-on activities in The Plaza Live lobby that allow them to play different instruments with the musicians, act out the characters they’ll hear in the story of the day with Orlando Philharmonic musicians, color in their own Symphony Storytime booklet, and take photographs dressed as musicians. A Toddler Zone for newborns to children up to the age of two is also available.
Presented at Bob Carr Theater to more than 70,000 students annually through 35 total concerts, the Young People’s Concerts include performances for 3-5th grade students in Orange County Public Schools; 5th Grade Students from Osceola County at the Osceola County School for the Arts; 5th grade students from Volusia County School Districts; and more than 6,000 students from local public, private, and homeschool groups.
The 2018 Young People’s Concert, entitled Beyond the Screen features outstanding classical music presented in student's favorite television shows, movies, and commercials. Students will love learning how classical music plays a starring role alongside their favorite characters.
The concert features well-known composers, including Grieg, Dukas, Stravinsky, Bernstein, and more.
