Launched in May 2017, Wow in the World is a podcast for curious kids and their grown-ups that leads listeners on a journey away from their screens, inside their brain, out into space, and deep into the coolest new stories in science, technology, and innovation. Distributed by NPR, Wow in the World marks the first show for kids in the public broadcaster’s 47-year history. Hosts Guy Raz (NPR’s Ted Radio Hour, How I Built This) and Mindy Thomas (SiriusXM’s Kid’s Place Live) weave a character-driven and humor-heavy narrative around the latest stories from peer-reviewed scientific journals about incredibly cool things happening in the world right now. Stories that spark listeners’ sense of wonder, ignite their curiosity and often cause endless belly-laughs. Stories that make kids excited about the world and their place in it.

Que tal amigos...como de costumbre les comparto la reseña de esta película de parte de nuestra experta en cine, Celivette Diaz @starcely 

Glass se estrena en cines este fin de semana y  no debes perder la oportunidad de ver esta película en cines,  por que te contestará dudas y te creará otras. ¿Cuántas veces has pensado  en la posibiliad de vivir junto a personas con poderes sobrenaturales? Glass  nos invita a descubrir como  la mente  y el cuerpo pueden desarrollarse de maneras  inexplicables, con  esta película  llena de acción y  buenos diálogos.

El fin de la trilogía comienza con David (Bruce Willis), un guardia de seguridad que usa sus super poderes para tartar  de  encontrar a Kevin W. Crumb (James McAvoy) , un hombre con multiples personalidades que amenza a la ciudad de Philadelfia. David aparece como único sobreviviente de un accidente de tren (Unbreakable)  y ahora se siente  responsable  en ayudar al mas debil, convirtiéndose en un “vigilante” de la ciudad. Kevin, a quien ya conocemos en Split, vive con 23 personalidades. Por diversas razones, ambos personajes quedan atrapados en  un hospital psiquiátrico con el objetivo de ser investigados  y convencidos de no tener poderes sobrenaturales. En el lugar se encuentran con Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), el hombre responsable del accidente de tren que David sobrevivió. 

Elijah tiene una mente ponderosa pero su cuerpo se quiebra facilmente, pues tiene la condición Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), sin embargo  convence a  Kevin de explotar el poder de “ La Bestia” que encierra y David se siente que debe evitar el malévolo plan de “MR. Glass”. Cada personaje tiene su fuerza  y su debilidad, pero solo es capaz de sobrevivir el que sabe utilizar sus virtudes con astucia. El final cambia el rumbo de todos, por que  conocemos las verdaderas intenciones de la Doctora Eli Staple (Sarah Paulson).

Debo reconocer que Glass no pierde el tiempo  en volver a contar la historia. Ya los personajes fueron introducidos en las cintas anteriores, por lo que te recomiendo que repases los hechos de las películas para que no te sientas perdido  en la historia. Tampoco quiero  adelantarme en acontecimientos al decir que esta trilogía pudiera ser el comienzo de una serie, por que la cinta de deja con deseos de ver mas personajes como ellos, asi como la idea de que todo lo que vimos pudiera ser cierto, que vivimos rodeados de personas con super poderes. No quiero ser aguafiestas ni pasarme de la raya contando mas de la historia.  En el pre-estreno de la pelicula, el director, productor y escritor M. Night Shyamalan nos pidió en una nota que permanezcamos en silencio, ya que a él le tomo 19 años  en concluir la trología.

Aunque  Glass parece ser sacada de un comic book, como las grandes peliculas de Marvel y  DC Comics,  el objetivo del creador es formar un universo cinematográfico con personajes que se salen del molde de ser superheroes. Esto nos da la inevitable esperanza de conocer nuevos personajes y  retar los limites  de la actuacion y los efectos  especiales.  Eso sin contar el confuso final de esta pelicula, que te deja con ganas de mas.   Cada actor  da la talla y el descenlace te deja sin aliento. No pierdas mucho el tiempo en  ir a ver esta emocionante película.

Disney ALADDIN's brings renowned actor Navid Negahban as "Sultan" in theaters may 24th 2019

From his critically acclaimed and SAG-nominated performance as Osama Bin Ladin archetype 'Abu Nazir' opposite Damian Lewis on "Homeland" to his villainous role as the "Shadow King" on the hit FX/Marvel series "Legion", actor Navid Negahban is now taking on one of the most beloved roles in Disney cinema as the 'Sultan' in Disney's Guy Ritchie-directed live-action remake of ALADDIN. Negahban stars opposite Will Smith, Naomi Scott, and Mena Massoud in this live-action re-telling of the classic 1992 animated Disney film, which is currently slated for a May 24^th, 2019 (Memorial Day Weekend) wide theatrical release.

Navid captured one of the most coveted roles in the Marvel Universe on "Legion," playing the "villain with a thousand faces," one of the more elaborate Marvel mutants in the series (Season 3 Returns in 2019). Based on characters from Marvels' X-Men universe and created by "Fargo" producer Noah Hawley, the hit show stars Dan Stevens ("Beauty and the Beast") and Aubrey Plaza ("Parks & Rec"). Season 2 marked the highly anticipated reveal of 'Farouk aka The Shadow King', who made his live action debut in "Legion" - a shocking twist since the character from the comic books is a manifestation of the dark side of the human consciousnesses, spawned by the first nightmare and occupies different human form hosts, and is never physically materialized.

Negahban, best known for his critically acclaimed and SAG nominated performance as Osama Bin Ladin archetype Abu Nazir on opposite Damian Lewis on "Homeland." Born in Mashhad, Iran, Navid caught the acting bug at the age of eight, when his portrayal of an old man drew laughter from a large audience at an elementary school play. The NFL’s “Sultan of Safeties” expands program to SiriusXM Channel 211!

CRN Digital Talk Radio announced today that the weekly “Sports Lounge with Fred Dryer” will now air on Dan Patrick Radio heard on SiriusXM channel 211, Saturdays at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT. 

NFL great and Hollywood icon, Fred Dryer and his co-host, Mike Horn bring you the latest on sports news and the politics of the game. 

Following his retirement from a 13 year NFL career with the Giants and the Rams, Dryer began his successful career as a film and television actor, notably starring in the series Hunter.

“Fred brings such a unique perspective to sports radio," said Jennifer Horn, Vice President of Marketing for CRN Digital Talk Radio.  "Not only is he a former player but he understands all aspects of the game.  He is very in tune with the politics and decisions made behind the scenes in the sports world.  His show is not your average sports show!”

Fred was a first team “Little All-American” and represented San Diego State in the East-West Shrine Game and the Hula Bowl.  In January 1969, Fred was the thirteenth over all pick in the NFL draft, selected in the first round by the New York Giants.  After playing three seasons for New York, Fred was traded to the Los Angeles Rams where he attained “All-Pro” honors playing right defensive end.  He retired from professional football in the summer of 1981.

After football, Fred decided to pursue his passion for acting and performing.  In 1984 Fred landed the lead in the Stephen J. Cannel series “Hunter”. The show aired for seven seasons on NBC and elevated Fred to world-wide fame. While acting as detective “Rick Hunter,” Fred’s interest turned to directing and producing, leading him to produce the sixth and seventh seasons of “Hunter” bringing him much success and critical acclaim.  “Hunter” lives on in syndication to this day in over one-hundred countries around the world.

After “Hunter,” Fred headed to Paramount Studios where he started Fred Dryer Productions.  FDP produced “Day of Reckoning” and “The Return of Hunter,” along with many other titles.  He continues to act and develop film and television projects.

Always an active reader and study of sports, business and politics, Fred Dryer partnered with Los Angeles based CRN Digital Talk Radio in August 2011 to create the weekly “Sports Lounge with Fred Dryer.”  Fred couples his passion and knowledge for sports with his first person perspective of the business to bring listeners his unique take on the games, the players and the politics that make up the world of sports and American culture.
