Merlin Entertainments and FORREC share plans of the proposed LEGOLAND® New York, expected to open in the Town of Goshen, New York. Merlin currently operates more than 100 attractions in 23 countries across four continents and proudly introduces its proposal for a third LEGOLAND Park in North America!  LEGOLAND New York will feature fully themed play areas and more than 50 rides, shows and attractions, creating memorable guest experiences, plus a LEGOLAND Hotel upon opening.  On Tuesday, Nov. 15, FORREC Executive Vice President Cale Heit and LEGOLAND New York’s Head of Community & Project Relations Phil Royle will both be speaking. LEGOLAND New York is slated to open in 2018.

The 153-acre park could open as early as 2018, with construction starting in the spring of 2017. The developers are also estimating that the park could draw 10,000 to 20,000 visitors a day and create 500 full-time jobs. The park would be off Route 17 near Interstate 84.
Legoland New York Resort in Goshen would include more than 50 rides, shows and attractions and a 250-room Lego-themed hotel aimed at families with children ages 2-12.

“We believe this location, just an hour from New York City and approximately three hours from Boston and Philadelphia, is the absolute perfect site for an entertainment brand as compelling as Legoland," John Ussher, the park's senior divisional director, said in a statement.

The park projected it would get between 1.5 million and 2.5 million visitors a year, in line with its two other U.S. resorts in California and Florida. Legoland also operates in the United Kingdom, Germany, Malaysia and Denmark.
