New Orleans-Inspired Fare Floats into Neighborhood Taverns in Honor of Mardi Gras
ORLANDO, Fla.
(Feb. 2025) – Marlow's Tavern is bringing Mardi Gras to Central Florida with its annual Bayou ‘n Bourbon menu, a celebration of the Big Easy that blends soulful, indulgent cuisine with the spirit of community. Executive Chef, CEO and Co-founder John C. Metz has crafted a selection of specialty dishes and cocktails featuring bold Bayou flavors available through Tuesday, March 11. Guests are encouraged to bring their krewe and enjoy this celebration of Louisiana’s diverse culinary traditions.“We love bringing the vibrancy of New Orleans and the warmth and richness of Cajun and Creole cuisine to our guests,” says Metz. “Our taverns are already neighborhood gathering places, and the addition of these hearty, flavorful Mardi Gras staples contributes to the spirited atmosphere.”
Available for dine-in and takeout, Bayou ‘n Bourbon’s “Mo’ Betta Specials” ($10-$21) include:
· Roasted chicken and shrimp gumbo: a Louisiana tradition that combines the holy trinity, roasted chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage with a Marlow’s twist
· Flatbread from the Bayou: built with Marlow’s secret sauce and the best ingredients Marlow’s kitchen and the Bayou has to offer
· Shrimp and crawfish po’boy: battered and spiced shrimp and crawfish, tartar, baby arugula, tomato and smoked chili cream on a toasted baguette, served with tavern fries
· Bayou crab cake: Louisiana-inspired, spiced up and fried crisp with sweet corn and pepper relish, baby arugula, tomato, vinaigrette and creole remoulade
· Creole patty melt: perfectly seasoned beef patty “all jazzed up” with andouille sausage, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and peppers and house-made Creole remoulade on toasted marble rye, served with tavern fries
· Deconstructed jambalaya: grilled Prestige Farms chicken, andouille sausage, house-made dirty rice and traditional crawfish Creole sauce.
· Honey bourbon bread pudding: honey and vanilla crème brûlée, soaked French bread and a splash of Old Forester bourbon
“Mo’ Betta Drinks” ($12-$13.50) showcase classic concoctions with a
Marlow’s twist, such as:
· Hurricane: Plantation run, chinola, fresh orange juice and a 151 floater
· Smoked Sazerac: Old Forester rye, Peychaud’s bitters, absinthe and smoked
· French 75: Boodles gin, fresh lemon, simple syrup, lavender bitters and Michelle brut
