Aquí hay un vistazo a 5 de los 66 consejos de expertos compilados por Consumer Reports:

• Sé leal a la contraseña: La gente dice que cambies las contraseñas con regularidad. No lo hagas, a menos que haya una buena razón, como respuesta a una violación de datos. Si la cambias a menudo probablemente terminarás usando opciones débiles.
• Detén el robo de identidad después de una muerte: El robo de identidad afecta a 2.5 millones de estados patrimoniales por año, de acuerdo con el IRS. Si un ser querido ha muerto, envía una copia del certificado de defunción al IRS (la funeraria puede ayudar con eso). También, cancela cualquier licencia de conducir, y notifícalo a las agencias de crédito, bancos, compañías de seguros e instituciones financieras.
• Cubre la Cámara Web de tu Computadora Portátil: Los agentes maliciosos han demostrado una y otra vez que pueden encender la cámara de una computadora portátil sin que el usuario lo sepa. ¿La solución más simple? Haz lo que Mark Zuckerberg, el CEO de Facebook y James Comey, el director del FBI hacen: coloca un pedacito de cinta adhesiva o una nota Post-it sobre la cámara. Los piratas cibernéticos aún no han logrado romper el código adhesivo. 
• Información Falsa: Los fabricantes de juguetes conectados están desplegando productos para niños conectados, incluyendo tabletas y muñecas que hablan, y pidiéndoles a las familias que divulguen información personal para registrarlos. Pero que, esencialmente, brinda a los anunciantes y a los piratas cibernéticos potenciales con detalles acerca de tus hijos. Así que considera darles información falsa.
• Cifrar los archivos de  la computadora: Puedes encriptar tu computadora completa o solo los archivos confidenciales. Para cifrar archivos específicos en una Mac, utiliza la Utilidad de Discos. Usuarios de Windows 10 Home pueden descargar una aplicación gratuita como GPG4win (también conocida como Gnu Privacy Guard).

«Una mujer verdadera», de la Dra. Isabel, invita a descubrir el poder de conocerse a sí misma

Harper Collins Español da a conocer la más reciente obra de Isabel Gómez-Bassols, conocida entre los hispanos de los Estados Unidos como «La Dra. Isabel, el Ángel de la Radio». En el libro «Una mujer verdadera», la destacada psicóloga y educadora comparte su perspectiva sobre el papel histórico de la mujer y la necesidad de ésta de ocuparse en el conocimiento de sí misma para lograr un equilibrio emocional y espiritual.

La Dra. Isabel aborda la transformación del papel de la mujer partiendo de las sociedades prehistóricas matrilineales hasta las patriarcales contemporáneas, y como consecuencia, la constante lucha histórica de la mujer por reivindicar sus derechos y por buscar la igualdad en su posición social con respecto del hombre. La autora resalta el surgimiento de un nuevo tipo de feminismo, que ella llama «inclusivo», en el que las mujeres desarrollan sus capacidades al máximo, alcanzando una equidad social que no violente los derechos ni de la mujer ni del hombre, sino que los lleve a lograr una «sociedad» en la que ambos colaboren para alcanzar sus sueños.

«Una mujer verdadera» busca motivar a las mujeres para colocarse en su papel original de intermediarias y conciliadoras en todos los aspectos de la vida. Revisa la influencia de las circunstancias y el medio ambiente en la formación del concepto propio de ser mujer: la política, la religión y la cultura como fuerzas que a lo largo del tiempo han definido lo que se espera que sea o no sea una mujer y lo que debe y no debe hacer.

A través de la narración de sus propias vivencias y luchas, la autora desafía a sus lectoras a transitar el camino de conocimiento propio para conseguir el balance entre cuerpo y alma, y abrazar así una nueva imagen, aunque el proceso sea largo y doloroso, en la búsqueda de la «diosa interior», analogía que emplea al describir los arquetipos femeninos representados por las distintas diosas de la mitología griega: La necesidad de autonomía, independencia y autosuficiencia, la capacidad de enfocarse y dedicarse a sus metas, los papeles tradicionales de la esposa, la madre y la hija, y finalmente, «la figura de la amante en la que una mujer sabe transformarse».

En «Una mujer verdadera», Isabel Gómez-Bassols destaca también la importancia de la mujer madura, dando una nueva apreciación al papel de las abuelas. Resalta la importancia de iniciar a cualquier edad— un proceso espiritual de autoconocimiento, a través de la reflexión en ciertas preguntas clave y en el empleo de las diversas formas de meditación.

«Este libro traza el progreso de las mujeres y su importancia, o falta de esta, a través de las edades, desde las diosas de nuestra historia antigua al tiempo presente... y constituye un paso importante para las mujeres al alentar el orgullo y reconocer su valor verdadero», afirma la también consejera familiar. «Yo creo que este libro... es sobre cómo la vida interior de la mujer nos lleva a conocernos a nosotras mismas, a representarnos tal como realmente somos», declara.

La reconocida y muy talentosa actriz Natalia Denegri de la mano del director venezolano Alain Maike, la periodista y conductora viajó a Italia para filmar Uma.

Natalia Denegri sigue mostrando su versatilidad y cumpliendo cada objetivo que se propone. Esta vez tuvo su primer papel protagónico en cine.

"La experiencia fue increíble -contó Natalia- y me sentí súper cuidada. Tanto el elenco, con actores internacionales súper reconocidos, como el staff técnico conformaron un grupo humano súper agradable. Trabajar con todos ellos fue súper fácil y placentero. Ni hablar de la dirección de Alain Maike, un profesional con todas las letras, que hizo que pudiera sacar lo mejor de mí para interpretar a una neurocirujana muy particular", agregó Natalia, evidentemente feliz. 

El filme "Uma", que además cuenta en el elenco con figuras como Henry Zakka, William Goite, Alexandra Braun, Orlando Delgado y Pedro Medina, se estrenará en Europa en el mes de marzo y ya ha recibido propuestas para ser presentado en varios festivales de cine del continente. 

Gracias a su participación en este largometraje, Natalia ya fue protagonista de varias tapas de diarios italianos y norteamericanos, donde la reconocen por sus logros y alcances continuos. 

En estos momentos, la ganadora del Emmy por el documental Doble exilio (parte 2) aprovechó su estadía en Europa para descansar unos días en Londres y para hacer una linda producción de fotos para importantes revistas de los Estados Unidos. 

A su regreso a Miami, espera reencontrarse con su beba Nicole para llevarle todos los regalos que le compró. 

Y como Natalia nunca para, se preparará para retomar su trabajo televisivo y solidario con "Corazones guerreros" y para darle vida a un nuevo documental sobre Venezuela con el que espera volver a ganar un Emmy.

December 17^th, 2014 was a historic day for both the U.S. and Cuba when Raúl Castro and President Obama announced a new vision for the country, restoring diplomatic ties for the first time in more than 50 years.  Fast forward two years and change is very readily seen in Cuba, impacting many aspects of daily life on the island, as well as those now able to more freely visit. Industries previously struggling or merely nonexistent, such as Airbnb and cruising, are now flourishing due to the influx of tourists. Mayor examines the evolving nation and the impact on its people through interviews with the locals of Havana, sharing personal accounts of the country’s progression, thoughts on this new beginning and hope for the future. 

LA CUBA DE HOY is comprised of two hour-long episodes - “A Puertas Abiertas” premiering on Nat Geo Mundo Sunday, October 2 at 8PM ET/PT and “Un Nuevo Son” set to air Sunday, October 9 at 8PM ET/PT.  

“A Puertas Abiertas” (“Embracing Change”) follows Mayor as she steps foot onto Cuban soil for the first time, joined by her husband and children. Like many Cuban-Americans whose ability to visit the island has been inhibited over the years, Mayor visits the historic monuments including Hotel National, an architectural symbol of Havana, and local restaurants, who must now adapt their size and cuisine to accommodate the increase in visitors. With the largest impact placed on commercial progress, Mayor uncovers everything from important financial and technological enhancements, like the expansion of Wi-Fi, still very limited on the island, to credit cards which are still not accepted in many establishments. 

“Un Nuevo Son” (“A New Rhythm”) explores the impact of restored U.S. relations as it relates to religion, art and everyday culture, which many are striving to preserve. Personal narratives of the Cuban people demonstrate the influence of recent visits from important members of society, particularly Pope Francis whose arrival helped reinstate a sense of faith which, according to some Cubans, was absent during the revolution. Mayor and her daughter meet famed Cuban ballet dancer, Alicia Alonso, and explore authentic architecture and art on the island, while Cuban artists, such as Willy Chirino, reveal their stories and the impact Cuba has had on their careers, even when migrating to the U.S.  

While this era marks a new beginning and bright future for Cuba, conservation is still top of mind for many who are seeing the rapid changes impact their everyday lives. Through LA CUBA DE HOY, Nat Geo Mundo offers a personal, unseen glimpse of the return to one’s homeland following the evolution of a culture, efforts to preserve an essence cherished by many, and age-old traditions that may never change.
