Christmas Bricktacular Presented by Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas is back at LEGOLAND^® Florida Resort this December. Celebrate the holidays with some very merry LEGO^® builds, sweet holiday treats and resort-wide live entertainment during the theme park’s annual seasonal celebration for kids. This year, the festivities expand with “Holly Jolly Jubilee,” an all-new family-friendly show on the LEGO City Stage Presented by Wells Fargo. The winning designer from Miami International University of Art & Design was awarded a grant on behalf of Goya Foods, towards her tuition.

Goya Foods Inc., America’s largest Hispanic-owned food company, sponsored their first-ever fashion and design competition for Miami International University of Art & Design (MIU)  students this Saturday, November 10^th at PAMM. The participants were challenged with designing apparel using Goya products, packaging and imaging. The winning designer, Judith Cabrera, was awarded a grant on behalf of Goya Foods, towards her tuition to complete her studies in fashion design. “We could not be happier to have the ability to support these students on their journey to become Fashion Designers and doing it in such a creative manner; using Goya products was particularly interesting for us,” said Cynthia Chipi, marketing director of Goya Foods of Florida. “We are grateful to Funkshion for their passion to shine a light on innovative creations that allow designers to express their talent and culture.”

Funkshion, a company that specializes in innovative fashion show production from idealization and conception to production and execution was responsible for putting together the event from start to finish. On November 10th, following the FunkshionFashion Show in Miami Beach, the 13 designs were showcased in a one-of-a-kind activation  at PAMM. The competing designs were from 13 students from Miami International University of Art & Design.

La banda más importante del rock-pop, ganadora de seis Latin GRAMMYs® y cuatro GRAMMYs®, MANÁ, fue honrada por la Academia Latina de Grabación como Persona del Año 2018. La banda mexicana se convirtió en el primer grupo en ser honrado como por la Academia Latina de Grabación como Persona del Año. El vocalista Fher Olvera, el baterista Alex González, guitarrista Sergio Vallín y el bajista Juan Calleros recibieron el codiciado trofeo de cristal ante una sala llena a capacidad de artistas y líderes de la industria de la música latina. MANÁ fue reconocido por su legado musical y sus esfuerzos filantrópicos durante el concierto tributo a la banda. 

Las estrellas más grandes de la música latina se dieron cita para honrar a la banda con sus versiones de los éxitos que han sido parte de la banda sonora de generaciones. MANÁ se une al grupo selecto de grandes artistas latinos que han recibido el reconocimiento persona del año. La banda cerró la noche con broche de oro deleitando a los presentes interpretando sus éxitos en VIVO “Labios Compartidos” y “Clavado en un Bar”.  

“MANÁ es una banda que siempre ha dado todo su corazón y su alma”, expresó Olvera. “Trabajamos mucho hasta comenzar a cosechar logros. Es un honor para nosotros recibir este reconocimiento de parte de la Academia”. 

La Academia honró a MANÁ como Persona del Año por sus logros y contribuciones a la comunidad Latina y su trabajo incansable para la protección del medio ambiente y derechos humanos.  

El tributo a MANÁ como Persona del Año 2018 continuo la noche del jueves 15 de noviembre durante la premiación del Latin Grammy® transmitida en VIVO desde el MGM 

Grand Arena en Las Vegas, Nevada a través de la cadena Univisión. La banda encendió el escenario del Latin GRAMMY® con una presentación en VIVO de sus éxitos El Muelle de San Blas, Labios Compartidos y Clavado en un Bar. La banda recibió el premio, Persona del Año, de la mano del ícono de la música, Miguel Bosé. La banda aprovechó el momento de recibir el premio para anunciar que regresan a los escenarios con su gira mundial comenzando en otoño del 2019 en Estados Unidos.  

Durante su discurso de agradecimiento durante la ceremonia del Latin Grammy® Fher recalcó el compromiso de la banda con los derechos humanos y el medio ambiente:  “Estamos agradecidos con la Academia por el honor de ser “Persona del Año” y queremos decirles que seguiremos luchando por los derechos de los inmigrantes,  lucharemos por la madre tierra, lucharemos por los derechos de la mujer, seguiremos luchando por hacer canciones de corazón y del alma”.
