Orlando Family Stage Dives Under the Sea with Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo
A splashy, song-filled adventure brings a beloved Pixar story to life for families this spring
Orlando, FL – Orlando Family Stage invites audiences to jump in and explore the big blue world with Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo: A 60-Minute Family Musical, a vibrant new musical adaptation of the beloved Pixar film. Running April 11 through May 10, 2026, this colorful, heartfelt production is perfect for audiences of all ages and part of the theatre’s Centennial Celebration season.
Featuring stunning visuals, and original music by award-winning songwriting duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen, Coco), Finding Nemo brings the ocean to life in a dazzling theatrical experience filled with unforgettable characters, imaginative design, and more than 30 puppets.
At the heart of the story is Marlin, an anxious clownfish determined to keep his son Nemo safe at all costs. But when Nemo is unexpectedly taken far from home, Marlin must venture into the unknown, facing sharks, jellyfish, and the vast ocean itself. Along the way, he meets Dory, a joyful and optimistic companion, and Crush, a laid-back sea turtle, who help him discover that courage, trust, and letting go are all part of growing up.
“This is a story that resonates deeply with families,” said Jeff Revels, Artistic Director of Orlando Family Stage. “Perhaps a young person in the audience will see just how much a parent cares for their wellbeing, and perhaps a parent will recognize the importance of letting a child explore the world. It is a beautiful journey of growth, compromise, and love. And it is also just a lot of fun.”
Director Eric Gelb emphasizes the show’s powerful themes and visual storytelling. “Like any great musical for young audiences, Finding Nemo explores persistence, community, and individuality. We want audiences to ‘just keep swimming’ through challenges, to recognize the importance of teamwork, and to celebrate what makes each of us unique. Our production embraces that fully, with a wide range of characters and designs that invite everyone to see themselves reflected on stage.”
With its blend of humor, heart, and spectacle, Disney’s Finding Nemo offers a joyful theatre experience for kids and grown-ups alike. Whether audiences know every line from the film or are discovering the story for the first time, this undersea adventure promises to delight.
