MARLOW’S TAVERN SERVES UP A TASTE OF THE BIG EASY
“Bayou ‘n Bourbon” Celebration Menu and Trip Giveaways Bring Mardi Gras Flavor to Orlando
Who says you have to go to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras? Orlando’s favorite neighborhood restaurant, Marlow’s Tavern, is offering its annual Bayou ‘n Bourbon menu for six weeks of Big Easy-inspired dishes and cocktails.  Now through Tuesday, March 24, Marlow’s – or Marleaux, if you prefer –will be serving up a savory celebration of Louisiana culinary culture.

“Our Bayou ‘n Bourbon menu takes the wonderful flavors of New Orleans and gives them a Marlow’s Tavern twist,” said John C. Metz, executive chef and co-founder of Marlow’s Tavern. “It’s our way of celebrating a unique and diverse cuisine and giving our guests a taste of the festive atmosphere of Mardi Gras.”

This year, Marlow’s is partnering with local radio stations to give away three trips to this spring's New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.  Lucky winners will enjoy a weekend in New Orleans listening to music legends such as Elton John, The Who, Jimmy Buffett and Tony Bennett.  Right here at home, Marlow's fans have a chance to win a dinner for two or a dinner for four just by entering their contact information on the restaurant's Facebook page. There will be weekly social media giveaways throughout the six-week celebration, as well.

The Bayou ‘n Bourbon menu will be available daily for lunch and dinner, in addition to the main menu. The parade of jazzed-up dishes includes:

  • Roasted Chicken & Shrimp Gumbo– a down-home Louisiana tradition with a Marlow’s twist
  • Le Cajun Boudin– slow-roasted pork, seasoned Cajun-style, with rice and a Creole rémoulade
  • Daily Flatbread From the Bayou– made with secret sauce and the best ingredients Marlow's kitchen (and the bayou) have to offer
  • “N'awlins-Style” Po’Boy–tempura-battered shrimp and crawfish, apple-cabbage slaw, shredded lettuce, Roma tomato and smoked chili cream on a toasted baguette
  • Creole Patty Melt– fresh ground beef all “jazzed up” with andouille sausage, Swiss cheese, caramelized onions and peppers and a house-made Creole rémoulade on toasted marble rye
  • Deconstructed Jambalaya–grilled Prestige Farms chicken, andouille sausage, house-made dirty rice and traditional crawfish Creole sauce
  • NOLA Red Gish Grill– blackened red fish, corn and okra maque choux, grainy mustard, scallion and crawfish tomato beurre blanc.

Of course, no Big Easy meal would be complete without a decadent dessert. To round out the meal, Marlow’s will offer its Honey-Bourbon Bread Pudding, made with honey and vanilla crème brûlée, soaked Cuban bread and a splash of Jack Daniel’s Honey.
Guests can also enjoy spirited New Orleans-style drinks and cocktails, given that special handcrafted Marlow’s touch. The offerings include:

“Pat’s” Marlow’s Hurricane– a New Orleans tradition stolen from Pat O’Brien’s. Bacardi light rum, fresh orange juice and a floater of Bacardi 151. Hold onto your beads!
Ramos Gin Fizz – Van Gogh dry gin, house-made sour, light cream and orange flower water, shaken 50 times until frothy and served icy

Bourbon Street Lemonade– house-made with Southern Comfort, lemonade, a kiss of mint, fresh lemon and lime and a dash of simple syrup
Cajun Cosmo – Absolut Mango and Peppar, cranberry, triple sec and fresh lime

Abita Strawberry Harvest –Built with Pilsner, wheat, Vanguard hops and filtered real Louisiana strawberry juice, creating a crisp lager and strawberry, perfect for a night on the bayou!
Abita Amber – a Munich-style lager brewed with crystal malt and perle hops, smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color

Sokol Blosser Evolution, Oregon 16th edition– a unique blend of nine different white grapes, produced and bottled in Oregon, Washington and California. Exotic tropical citrus and hints of spicy apple for a lush feel with a crisp, bright finish.
