STEVIE B. AND LISA LISA RETURNS TO AMWAY CENTER ON JULY 15

 

ORLANDO, FLORIDA [April 3, 2023] – The biggest names in freestyle and old-school music are back with Freestyle Explosion Throwback Jam featuring 11 artists including the King of Freestyle, Stevie B., the Queen of Freestyle, Lisa Lisa along with ’80s and ‘90s pop sensations The Jets and Color Me Badd. Freestyle icons TKA K7, Debbie Deb, Johnny O & Cynthia, Freestyle, Trinere and throwback legend Rob Base, round out the bill. This is the quintessential ensemble of freestyle artists who will perform their biggest dance hits at Orlando’s Amway Center on Saturday, July 15. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. ET.

 

The lineup influenced the 80s and beyond with their rhythmic beats and crossover music which remains widely popular and continues to be in rotation with today’s hits. Singer, songwriter and producer Stevie B., who was influential in the Latin freestyle music scene of the late 1980s, is best known for his number-one ballad “Because I Love You” and party jams “Spring Love” and “Party Your Body” as well as other hits such as “I Wanna Be The One” and “Dreaming of Love."


Lisa Lisa rose to fame with the certified-gold single “I Wonder If I Take You Home,” which was released along with her band Cult Jam and huge follow-up hits “Can You Feel The Beat,” "Head To Toe,” “Lost In Emotion” and the smash ballad, "All Cried Out.”

 

Debbie Debclub queen and freestyle songstress, has two of the biggest hits, "Lookout Weekend" and "When I Hear Music.” Her influence was proven when Janet Jackson re-recorded Debbie Deb’s monster jam, “Lookout Weekend,” a true testament to this legendary artist.

 

The Jets, the vocal group originally from Minnesota and of Tongan descent, achieved much of their success in the late ’80s and early ‘90s when they became one of the first family bands to produce several top 10 hits on the Billboard 100, including “Crush On You,” “Rocket 2 U,” “Make It Real” and “You’ve Got it All,”   

 

Color Me Badd will take us down memory lane and have all of the ladies back in love again and reliving those high school sweetheart days as they perform their biggest hit songs “I Wanna Sex You Up,” "All 4 Love,” "I Adore Mi Amore” and “Close to Heaven.”

 

TKA K7 is one of the best-selling Latin freestyle bands in history. The trio was prominent in the 1980s and early 1990s, particularly in New York CityChicagoMiami, Philadelphia and Orlando. Original members Louis "Kayel” Sharpe (K7) and Ralph "Aby" Cruz—are still performing their big hits together, including “One Way Love,” “Louder Than Love," “Maria,” “Tear’s May Fall” and “Come Baby Come."

 

Duo Johnny O & Cynthia will perform their hits “Fantasy Girl” and “Change On Me.” The highlight of the evening will be their live performance of their biggest hit, “Dreamboy Dreamgirl,” which was their highest charting single on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 53.

 

Freestyle, known for their electronic keyboards and space goggles, this electro-pop freestyle group is a standout in their production and energy performing their most popular hits, "Don’t Stop The Rock,” "It's Automatic” and “The Party has Just Begun.”

 

Trinere, also considered a queen of freestyle, is a Miami-based vocalist and dance star who will perform her biggest hits, “They’re Playing Our Song,” “All Night” and “I’ll Be All You’ll Ever Need,” along with other classics.


Rob Base is one of the biggest New York City old-school hip-hop stars best known for the 1988 smash singles, “It Takes Two” and “Joy and Pain.” He is a pioneer of rap’s crossover appeal and success into mainstream popular music and is a favorite on the Freestyle Explosion Throwback Jam Tour.
