Despite their struggle to keep the princess safe, these good-natured creatures can do nothing about the sorcerer's spell, which can only be broken by a vow of everlasting love. The 25 anniversary Blu-ray release includes an all-new featurette entitled “A Look Back, Tease Ahead,” plus a variety of additional archival features.

 

In the newest film in the series, THE SWAN PRINCESS: KINGDOM OF MUSIC, our favorite princesses are back in an all new feature-length musical adventure. Princess Odette is hosting a music competition to celebrate Princess Alise’s birthday - the winner will sing at her grand birthday ball! Prince Li of Cathay has entered, but his sister Princess Mei Li has stowed away on his ship to seek help from Odette and Derek for Chen, who has been cursed to live as a dragon. Lucas and Alise are reunited but Prince Li’s arrival makes Alise doubt her feelings. While Li and Lucas fight for Alise’s heart, Derek and Odette try to help Mei Li and Chen break the curse. Who will win the music festival and will Chen ever be free from his curse?

Included with the Kingdom of Music DVD are interactive sing-alongs featuring two all-new toe-tapping tunes from the film and a behind-the-scenes featurette that explores how the world and characters of the film were brought to life.

Telemundo Campaign Inequalities in Female Soccer

With the start of the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ this Friday, June 7, Grey Argentina has partnered with Telemundo on a campaign centered around the slogan: “If they fought so hard to get here, watch what they’ll do to win the Cup.”

 The goal of the joint effort is to shine a light on the inequalities female athletes face on a daily basis. The campaign launched on all Telemundo platforms and will continue to release new announcements and messaging until June 10, including special content profiling four of the world-class players expected to play in this summer’s tournament: US forward Christen Press; Argentine goalie Vanina Correa; Chilean defender Su Helen Galaz; and Brazilian defensive midfielder Érika Dos Santos.

 As part of the campaign, the four athletes appeared in spots discussing their past and present challenges in the sport, to give it all to train and play, especially the fact that nearly a third of women players have to work a second job in order to make a living in professional soccer. Taking advantage of the World Cup and the visibility of top female athletes from the region, the campaign uses this statistic as the starting point to raise awareness of a reality that too often goes unnoticed. The spots alone weren’t enough; more needed to be done.

Telemundo hired the four players to spend a day working at the network as panelists, meteorologists, correspondents and reporters – real jobs in which they appeared live in front of thousands of people, exposing the inequality that exists between men and women in the world of sports.

“Today we have the opportunity to use ideas to raise awareness of social and cultural issues,” remarked Lisandro Cardozo, who serves as co-CCO of Grey Argentina along with Alejandro Devoto and Hernán Kritzer. “It is a role we are delighted to play and we were very glad to contribute to the campaign we created for Telemundo.” Karen Barroeta, Senior Vice President for Marketing and Creativity at Telemundo Networks, commented: “We are extremely proud of the work we did for the joint campaign we developed with Grey.

Coincidiendo con el 70 aniversario de la llegada del navío Winnipeg a Chile, Largo pétalo de mar cuenta la historia de Víctor y Roser, una pareja catalana que forma parte de los más de dos mil exiliados españoles que llegan al país andino a bordo del barco fletado por Pablo Neruda en 1939. Se trata de la primera vez que Isabel Allende aborda el tema de la guerra civil española y el exilio republicano, temas para los que se ha documentado ampliamente. Para ello, la escritora chilena ha entrevistado a supervivientes de este episodio histórico, entre ellos al recientemente fallecido Victor Pey –empresario y periodista español que llegó a dirigir el diario Clarín y fue consejero de Salvador Allende–, a quien está dedicado el libro.

La novela recorre la historia de medio siglo en Chile – “ese largo pétalo de mar y nieve, en palabras de Neruda”- desde los años cuarenta a los noventa, pasando por el golpe de estado de Pinochet. Por ella desfilan, como personajes secundarios, el presidente Salvador Allende y el propio Pablo Neruda, a quien homenajea no solo por su condición de poeta –cada capítulo de la novela se abre con un verso de su poemario– sino por su compromiso político. David Hyslop joins Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra as interim

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra announces the appointment of David Hyslop as Interim Executive Director.

David Hyslop comes to the Orlando Philharmonic with a 54-year career in arts management which includes 32 years serving as Chief Executive Officer for three of the nation’s top symphony orchestras – Minnesota Orchestra (1991-2003), St. Louis Symphony (1978-1991), and Oregon Symphony (1972-1978). Mr. Hyslop has previously served as Interim Executive Director or CEO with several organizations including the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, the Stockton Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and others.

A search committee has been formed and is committed to hiring the next full-time Executive Director.

The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra serves as Central Florida’s only professional orchestra and is positioned for a trajectory of tremendous growth, under the direction of Music Director Eric Jacobsen. The Philharmonic recently announced the 2019-2020 Season, its final at the Bob Carr Theater, and is eagerly anticipating performing in Steinmetz Hall at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in the Fall of 2020.
