Straight Outta Compton es una película que capta fielmente la realidad de un grupo de jóvenes que se atrevieron a dar a conocer, su música, ideas y cultura popular de su época, esta es sin dudas una película que debes de tener en tu colección.

A mediados de los años ochenta del siglo pasado, las calles de Compton, California, se conocían por ser de las más peligrosas del país. Cinco jóvenes plasmaron lo que vivían a diario en un estilo de música de una honradez inmensa y, rebelándose contra el abuso de la autoridad, dieron voz a toda una generación hasta entonces silenciada.

A través del ascenso y de la caída meteórica de N.W.A., Straight Outta Compton cuenta la increíble historia de cinco jóvenes que cambiaron para siempre el escenario musical y la cultura pop a partir del momento en que contaron la verdad de lo que pasaba en su ciudad, dando pie a una guerra cultural.

In 1987, five young men, using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats, put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music.  Taking us back to where it all began, Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how these cultural rebels—armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent—stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world’s most dangerous group, N.W.A.  And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today. 

Straight Outta Compton stars O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, and is directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, Set It Off, The Italian Job).  The drama is produced by original N.W.A members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who are joined by fellow producers Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright.  Will Packer serves as executive producer of the film alongside Gray, David Engel, Bill Straus, Ronald G. Muhammad, Scott Bernstein and Adam Merims.
