FEMA Joins NOAA Hurricane Hunters for Preparedness Tour, Making Final Stops in Florida

 

WASHINGTON -- FEMA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hurricane Hunters continue the 2023 Hurricane Awareness Tour in Tallahassee, Fla. on Thursday, May 4. The tour will make its final stop in Marathon, Fla. on Friday, May 5. These events follow previous stops in Houston, New Orleans and Jackson, Miss. earlier this week. The events are free and open to the public. 

At each stop, media and the public can meet FEMA and NOAA hurricane experts, scientists and crew members. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to tour aircrafts that help forecasters keep us safe, including NOAA’s WP-3D and the U.S. Air Force Reserve WC-130J.
