The Orlando Salsa Festival unites salsa music fans from across the globe in a four-hour celebration inviting fans to sing and dance to the vibrant rhythms of bomba and plena while witnessing performances by the most iconic and influential salsa artists.
Colón, the legendary salsa artist and multi-instrumentalist, is a pioneer of salsa music and a best-selling artist in the genre, producing 35 albums. With a career spanning over five decades, his fusion of salsa with elements of jazz, rock and Afro-Caribbean rhythms has earned him critical acclaim and his contributions to the genre are immeasurable. His timeless classic hits, including “Che Che Colé,” “La Murga” and “Mi Sueño,” continue to connect with generations of fans.
Founded in 1962, Puerto Rican salsa orchestra and International Latin Music Hall of Fame members El Gran Combo is one of Puerto Rico’s most successful music groups due to the sheer number of iconic salsa musicians and singers who have developed their careers with the group. The group continues to inspire dancers with their horn-punctuated Latin rhythms and vocal harmonies, including hits such as “Azuquita P’al Café,” “Por Mas Que Quiero” and “Y No Hago Mas Na.”
Manuelle, known to his fans as “El Sonero de la Juventud” (“The Singer of Youths”), emerged as a leading voice among the generation of New York salsa performers who rose to prominence in the mid-90s. The esteemed sonero is best known for his hits, “Amores Como el Nuestro,” “Cara de Niño,” “Casí Un Hechizo” and “Que Hay de Malo.”
Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter, La India, also known as “La Princesa de la Salsa (“The Princess of Salsa), is ranked among Billboard’s 2023 list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time. With a career spanning over three decades, La India is one of the most iconic figures in Latin music and has been captivating audiences with powerful and soulful vocals with songs, including “Vivir Lo Nuestro,” “Ese Hombre” and “Me Canse de Ser la Otra.”
Ruiz, knowns as the “Elvis of Salsa,” is one of the most influential salsa musicians of all time. Throughout his illustrious career, Ruiz has released a string of chart-topping hits earning him critical acclaim and international recognition. His classics such as “No Me Acostumbro,” “Mi Media Mitad” and “Luna Negra” have become anthems in the world of salsa music.
Formed in early 1970s, Fruko Y Sus Tesos is one of the most influential salsa acts of all time. With a legacy extending five decades, the group is renowned for their vibrant and dynamic fusion of traditional salsa with Colombian influences. Chart-toppers such as “El Preso,” “Cachondea” and “El Patillero” have made them one of the most beloved salsa bands.
The Venezuelan romántica salsa orchestra, Los Adolescentes, is renowned for their distinctive musical style consisting of vibrant rhythms of salsa, merengue and bachata and infusing their music with pop, R&B and tropical
elements. With a fresh new lineup, the ensemble will perform some of their timeless hits, including “Hoy Aprendi,” “Personal Ideal (Me Tengo Que Ir)” and “Aquel Lugar.”
