Partnership encourages Florida families to build their college savings early, just as their children are building their minds inside the brand-new indoor attraction

• The Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse features a new entertainment stage and touchscreen where children can practice numbers and letters and explore future careers.
• Newest indoor attraction at LEGOLAND^® Florida Resort invites children to build, play and learn.
• To celebrate the partnership, families can enter to win one of 10 college scholarships.

 The newest attraction at LEGOLAND^® Florida Resort is the Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse, an indoor play area that invites younger theme park guests to explore learning and careers, thanks to a partnership between the Central Florida theme park and Florida Prepaid College Savings Plans.

The Florida Prepaid Schoolhouse features a new entertainment stage, school-themed play equipment, DUPLO^® brick play areas and a touchscreen where children can practice numbers and letters while exploring exciting future careers. A photo opportunity area outside the schoolhouse, located in DUPLO^® Valley, features DUPLO cutout figures representing careers from marine biologist to doctor or teacher.

The partnership between Florida Prepaid and LEGOLAND^® Florida Resort reflects the shared mission of helping Florida’s children build their futures.

“Florida Prepaid and LEGOLAND^® Florida Resort want to encourage Florida families to support their children’s imagination, while saving for their college education,” said Board Chairman John Rood. “When children are building with DUPLO and LEGO bricks, college can seem very far away. But the earlier families start building a college savings plan, the less stress and debt they have to face later.”

To celebrate the new schoolhouse, Florida Prepaid is giving away 10 college scholarships, sponsored by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation.  

Now through November 24 at 5:00 p.m., families can enter to win one of 10 packages that each include a 2-Year Florida College Plan Scholarship and two tickets to LEGOLAND Florida Resort. Entrants also are automatically entered to win one of four LEGOLAND Florida Resort weekly prize packs.

 “A college education is truly one of the greatest gifts, and we look forward to giving that gift to 10 Florida students,” said Florida Prepaid Executive Director Kevin Thompson.
